PBIS
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an approach to teaching and supporting positive behaviors for all students. It includes meeting the social, emotional, and academic needs of ALL students. At South Student Academic Center, we focus on building a safe and positive environment in which your child can learn.
The foundation for PBIS at South Student Success Center are the THREE building wide expectations:
Show Respect
Achieve
Cooperate
In addition to our behavior expectations above, PBIS has four other components:
(1) A behavior matrix which explains how students (and staff) can meet the above expectations in each area of school
(2) direct teaching of the expectations
(3) a recognition system
(4) consistent, instruction based consequences for inappropriate behaviors.
